Piece of my heart-
Friday, May 13th, 2011“I’ll say come on, come on, come on, come on, yeah take it!
Take another little piece of my heart now, baby. (break a..)
Break another little bit of my heart now, darling, yeah, (come on…)
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby, yeah…”
I believe Janice Joplin was onto something there. That’s a little of how I’ve been feeling lately. My wife posted this video the other day on our Longing for Africa site. These are a couple ministries that we’ve become acquainted with over the past year. All I can say is, that while we love our home and are amazed at how God continue to bless us, our heart is STILL breaking every time we see and think of Ethiopia. Our adoption continues to change our lives and hearts every day. If you haven’t checked it out yet, head over to LONGINGFORAFRICA.COM and learn a little more about our journey…the process… and the ups and downs of adoption.

Distracted…
Wednesday, May 11th, 2011So… I’ve been a little distracted the last couple weeks. It’s been tough to keep up with the blogging. I’ve been doing a lot of writing and a little speaking. Here are a few projects I’ve been busy working on:
BIG PROJECT #1
Writing project with Craig Jutila – Year Won and Year Too. Two workbooks to kick-start your first couple years of ministry. This is not the only perspective on ministry, but it is OUR perspective. MORE COMING SOON…
BIG PROJECT #2
Parenting Resource (no official title yet) – Here’s a project that we’re developing at our church. It’s been designed to send periodic messages to parents reminding them to have intentional conversation with their children. The messages, sent via text or email will link parents to talk sheets that we have prepared to guide the conversation. As you register your family, you will receive 6 messages a year (ever other month) for each of your children, covering topics that we feel are crucial to their spiritual development. (I’m posting a couple samples over the next few days)
SPEAKING
Check out my latest family message entitled IN-GAUGE that I gave a few weeks ago at Fellowship Bible Church in Cleveland, Ohio. Listen to it (HERE)

Influencing this Next Generation
Wednesday, May 4th, 2011
When a generation fails to keep their eye one their “Influence gauge,” they run the risk of no longer investing in the next generation and as a result any rich spiritual legacy they have developed can be lost. Check out Judges 2:6-13
