5 Games that can help your child pay attention while sitting in “Big Church”
Wednesday, January 26th, 2011I posted a great resource (HERE) for parents. These 5 games have been designed to help calm the most restless of natives! I am a firm believer that children need to be in our weekend services. They need it… and so do we! It’s our ego-centric, self absorbed, shallow North American Christianity that has pushed our children out of this time.

Main Church Worship Services…a place for kids???
Tuesday, January 25th, 2011OK, so let’s start a conversation here. Seriously… I need you guys and gals to respond on this one. Your main stage worship services – is it a place for kids or not?
Here’s a couple of the arguments:
1. We need to reach these kids right where they are and that is done best in a “Children’s Church” environment and NOT in the “adult service” where they are bored to tears. (This argument is generally followed by a statement like “I was forced to go to church every week with my mom and dad and I HATED church for years because of it.”)
2. We need to have the parents be the primary teachers of the children in regard to spiritual things such as worship and children learn worship by watching and experiencing worship. Dads and moms need to model this IN FRONT OF THEM… but how can they do this if the children are not with them.
~there are more arguments, but there’s the 1st two…
Ok, your thoughts ? ? ?
