New July Series…Lessons from the Administrator
This July, I will be posting a series of posts focusing on Administration. Over 13 years ago, I took the plunge into full-time ministry. Over those years I have learned many “life lessons”. These are lessons that they never taught me in school. As a matter of fact, I majored in Mission’s and minored in Greek… how I ended up in children’s ministry is beyond me. Either way, I‘ve had to learn a lot of very painful lessons. It’s a good thing I did though; I now oversee over 1,000 children, over 600 volunteers, and a full-time staff of skilled children ministers. Here’s a quick rundown of what to expect:
- Joe’s use it, don’t lose it filing system
- Playing to your strengths – How to effectively utilize your whole team
- The difference between Leading and Managing
- How to appreciate timelines and checklists
- Time Management
- How to utilize high capacity volunteers
- Shifting schedules
- Great Expectations
